Question : Problem: Format HD
|
|
My laptop is a 20 gig HD. Pretty old school. It was running very slow so I'm formated the HD and did a fresh install. Now I didn't know what size to put it so I left it they way it was (I believe it was 19078MB or something like that) so I partitioned it like the default. I think it's not a good idea not to use 100%. Because when I logged in with the fresh one, the windows would open up normally, but when I scroll up or down, it would run really, really slow. Like page by page. Ok, what I'm asking is when I get home, I'm going to format it again. How much MB should I use and how many MB is 20 gigs?

Hi latinoheat0969,
19078MB on a 20GB drive looks ok to me, you won't get more on it. It's just the way harddisks are advertized, as a GB being 1000 MB instead of the official 1024MB. So this is normal.
Your computer is probably running slow by other causes.
Greetings,
LucF
