Question : Problem: Change frequency of AC current
|

Is it possible to use just standard electronic components to change the frequency of an AC current? Any schematics?

The most efficient way is to use a motor generator combination. But I doubt that that is what you want. What kind of power do you want from this conversion? What frequencies are you after? If the power is not much, there are a number of possibilities, most of which start you off by coverting the AC to DC If you want to double the frequency, use an unfiltered full wave rectifier and a DC blocking capacitor. If you want a variable high frequency, use a power oscillator. Another possibility is to use an ordinary switching power supply but omit the last rectifiers. If you want a cheap, quick, and dirty (the output is not a pure sine wave) process, this might be best. (Buy a cheap switching power supply and cut out the last rectifier.)
