Question : Problem: Computer Restarts while loading windows xp

My computer has been running xp sp2 for a few months. A few days ago The computer was showing no boot device found. I restarted the machine everthing worked for most of the day. The computer restarted and now will only get the the xp splash screen then it restarts.

I tried re-installing xp but I get a blue screen.

I decided to try linux. I am currently asking this question under suse 10 on the computer I can not get to work with xp.

What could possibly be wrong? If it works under linux why not xp? All the hardware is the same. The last thing I tried was to install xp over the drive currently running linux. Setup never reaches the license screen before I get the blue screen.

-By the way please do not suggest switching to linux, While linux is a fine OS the list of programs it will not run that I use on a daily basis is to large to even consider such a change.
