Question : Problem: How do I get my data on to a new RAID config
I have a promise TX4310 card with 250 gig WD drives.
This is an existing system I want to RAID so the C: I need to be identical on the RAIDed drives.
I got the card installed it and connected HD's.
I rebooted it and I was able to access the Promise config BIOS and configure the RAID.
It said that it would erase the drives when building the RAID. (which is fine because the original C: is not going to be part of the new RAID).
Now I have my RAID configured with no data on the drives. But I cant boot to a windows CD or a bootable floppy since installing the RAID. I did create a ghost image of the original C: drive.
How do I get the original C: data loaded on to the new RAID configuration. I have tried both RAID 1 and 5.
Answer : Problem: How do I get my data on to a new RAID config
Reverting to an older BIOS from promise did the trick.
Thanks
