Question : Problem: Can't see hard drive.

I got a dell optiplex gx280 and the person I got it from pull out his hard drive.
I have a Western Digital WD200 20GB IDE drive that I'm trying to put into it and the computer will not recognize the drive. I don't know what to check first.
Please help.

Honestly, I dont see it is worth for you to spend time to struggle the very old drive (20 G which perhaps you will find hard to get one :o) ... while larger capacity drives are now cheap. I dont really know what purpose you wanted to install OS on such drive! Unless there is very valued data on that drive and you wanted to get it.

Try other drive in same system, and if you can run installation smoothly without any issue, then you are sorting out the issue, the drive is a cause.
