Question : Problem: Blackberry txt file with email

Is it possible to email a blackberry with an attachment as as *.txt file?  

I want to be able to email a blackberry attach a txt file.  On the blackberry I want to be able to open, edit, save, and email the txt file back to the original email address.  Is this possible?  it seems like it should be but not having a blackberry I am not sure.

Wow, I took for granted that it would work, but sure enough, when I reply to a message I received, I cannot touch the text below the "-----Original Message-----" line for editing. I can select it and copy it and paste it, but that's not practical if it's a long message.
