Question : Problem: DVD/r/RW drive does not recognize DVD+R discs

In Windows XP, my DVD/r/RW drive does not recognize DVD+R discs.  The drive is a toshiba DVD/r/RW sd-r 5002.  The drive plays and burns CD's just fine, and plays DVD's.  But when I insert a blank DVD+R to burn, I am prompted to insert blank DVD+R.  It simply does not recognize DVD+R discs.  I have tried every piece of software.
