Question : Problem: HP Pavilion 6330 Graphics Card Driver?
|
|
Looking to find out what kind of graphics card is in the HP Pavilion 6330. No real support on HP's site. Searching the internet yielding no results. If anyone has one of this computers, could you tell me what kind of graphics card is reported by windows?
I installed a fresh copy of win98 (non-hp) and the only driver that words is standard pci at 640x480x16. We also do not have the HP Recovery CD which I'm told the driver is on. You would think they would allow you to download this from there site, but they don't!
Any help greatly appreciated!

Looks like your video is on the chipset. SiS 5598. Go to:
http://www.sis.com.tw/support/download/5598.htm
It's a BIOS update, so make sure you are willing to take the possible risks associated with this type of change. I got your computer info from:
http://hpcc923.external.hp.com/cgi-bin/cposupport/get_doc.pl?SNI=hppavilion6506&LC=personal_computing&Tfile=bph04436#P24_469
If this looks right, you're probably OK in doing the upgrade, but let this set and be seen by others who may know differently before trying it. Good luck.
