Question : Problem: how to use network copier/scanner as a local scanner

We have an application that requires that a local scanner be installed. We have a network based sharp copier that has scanning features built in but I have no idea as to whether or not it is possible to make it show up as a local scanner. Any help that you may provide will be greatly appreciated.

I would personally pick up a cheapo scanner (I know this isn't the question), as you can get them from like £30, and just connect via USB, then job done! But as stated above, I doubt you'll be able to get the scanner built in to that MFP to show up as a local scanner... :)
