Question : Problem: Speakers picking up radio frequency
|
|
hey all
I live on the 16th floor, and my speakers are picking up a radio frequency, its really annoying since even when no music is playing and the volume is turned down completely, the radio is still blasting for some odd reason. Anyone know how to fix this, i'd be really grateful since I can't use my speakers at the moment? Thanks in advance,

No, insulation doesn't block RF. SHIELDED wires would help.
nobus's suggestion is a good one.... .. They are called ferrites (or ferrite beads). You would want the split bead type. (These are what is inside those plastic 'lumps' you see on monitor, usb, and other types of cables.) http://161.58.140.58/Ferrite_Beads/ferrite_beads.html
When looking, look in places selling electronic components rather than places selling computer supplies. .
