Question : Problem: HP Officejet 7410
|
|
I have an HP Officejet 7410 that I need to install drivers for on a remote access machine...HP switched to their STUPID packages that only install the printer if it is hooked up to the machine...this is on the other side of the country. Does anyone know where I can get just the INF for this printer, or how to extract the info I need from the EXE I downloaded from their website? I also have a similar problem with a printer that is hooked up to a print-server. It would be really nice if HP would have a way for me just to install a driver & no actual printer.
Thanks in advance!

rustyrpage,
I'm glad that you were able to get that information from them. That driver is considered one of the universal drivers for the "jet" printers. It should provide the basic print functions that it sounds like you want. All of the features and capabilities you find under the properties for the printer will not be available but it doesn't sound like that matters in this case. Even more important it won't try to use the other features of the printer like scan and copying, which the normal driver would know about.
I hope it solves your problem and maybe you will find this information useful. Let me know if you have any questions or need more information.
