Question : Problem: Get XP Spanned Disc to Linux
I have a spanned disc (My Music) that is made of 2 - 200GB Harddrives. This is under Windows XP Pro SP2 I want to switch to Linux. Is it possible to use this spanned disc under linux? If not, is it possible to "unspan" it and make it into two seperate drives accessible under linux without losing the data? I just can go buy another two 200 GB harddrives right now to temporarily back it up?
thanks david

Spanned Disks are Dynamic - Linux cannot read Dynamic Disks. You cannot "unspan" a set of Windows Disks. If you want to retain your files on your spanned volume, you'll need to backup the volume and then destroy the disk, reverting it to basic. Then format it and probably split your music collection across two drives.
