Question : Problem: Help with diagnosing fault on Sony Vaio VGN-FS285H

I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FS285H that wont boot.

When plugged into the mains i press the power button and i get a light come on at the front telling me that it's running off mains and then I've got the 3 lights at the top next to the power button come on( the 3 lights have 3 pictures as shown in image 1).

These 3 lights then stay on and don't go out and nothing else happens.

I thought that maybe it could be a keyboard fault but not sure.   Would a keyboard fault stop the system from coming on like this.

Need some extra input on this please.

Sure, it seems some component or mechanical component are loosing. It is odd when it happens on laptop. Check the bad cap on board: http://www.badcaps.net/pages.php?vid=5

This kind of issue is tough and related with motherboard and repair on component level is not easy and might costly if done at repair shop, so I would consider the mobo is bad.
