Question : Problem: Acer Aspire 1400 notebook: wireless adapter missing
|
|
Acer Aspire 1400 (BR20) Appears to be missing a wireless adapter. I'm confused. There is an indicator light on the front, a slide switch to enable it on the side, and also a key combination (Fn+F8) to enable/disable, but Device Manager doesn't show a wireless adapter. I've downloaded the latest GEMTEK driver from the Acer website & installed it, but the adapter doesn't appear anywhere. There's no BIOs option to do with wireless.
Any clues? Anyone know if Acer made some of these WITHOUT the wireless, even though the switches and indicators are all there?
This is the same Acer Aspire as in my other two questions: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Hardware/Components/Motherboards/Q_22520973.html http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/System_Utilities/Drivers/Q_22520970.html

Answer : Problem: Acer Aspire 1400 notebook: wireless adapter missing

Look on the bottom and see if you can remove a panel for the wireless adapter. The same way you would access the RAM. the wireless adapter will look circuit board and will connect the same way RAM will. See if you have one.
