Question : Problem: SONY PS2 / PS1 COPY CD

Hi

I have a Sony Playstation 2 - my daughter has a game from the PS1 (Ape Escape) but it will not seem to work on the PS2 - it tries to read the disc, and the title comes up, but it gets no further, with the drive sounding like it's continually trying to seek.

The CD is not damaged, and I wanted to copy the data onto another CD to see if that would work (sometimes a CD will work on one PC but not another - that was my logic anyway!)

I need to know if there is an application for the PC which will copy PS1 CD's ?

I cannot browse the page due to a local policy about game-page's.

I noticed too late that the page was last updated in 2004 so a big chance of outdated links.

that page also states that you cannot use backup Game-CD's on an PS2 emulating a PS1, so I think it will be a very slim chance your backup will be playable.
Also found some info that the newer versions of the PS2 are even more incompatible with older PSOne games.

on how to make the backup of your game I think Google would be the best source.
