Question : Problem: Dell Inspiron 630M PCMCIA V620 Card problem

This is a new Dell 630M with XP Home etc.  We're trying to use a Verizon V630 PCMCIA Broadband wireless card but the card does not fit into the slot completely.  There appears to be a shoulder within the slot that prevents this card from being inserted completely.  Dell indicates that a v620 card is supposed to work. Can anyone suggest why this card won't insert properly?  Thanks.

Answer : Problem: Dell Inspiron 630M PCMCIA V620 Card problem

Your laptop has an ExpressCard slot, which does not support pc cards.  You can verify this by going to Dell here:  http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/inspn_630m?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd&~tab=specstab#tabtop

If you need to run a wireless card you could try a USB wireless adaptor.  The Verizon PC card isn't going to work...

A USB wifi card can be found here:  http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1173253&CatId=369
