Question : Problem: Having trouble viewing a quicktime file on an XP

I have a quicktime file on an XP, but Quicktime gives me the following message when I tried to view the file:
"Error -2048:  Couldn't open the file sup1at.qt because it is  not a file that quicktime understands"

I copied this file from another computer, possibly with "cp" at some stage.  Quicktime was able to view it on the other computer.  

Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Answer : Problem: Having trouble viewing a quicktime file on an XP

looks like the file may be damaged or corrupt. To verify this try using quicktime on the machine to view another file and try copying the problem file to another machine any playing it there.
