Question : Problem: No Sound Volume for Quicktime and Web Pages...

I have virtually no sound volume from Quicktime (7.5) and any web pages (which makes sense as they probably use the Quicktime plugin).  iTunes, WinAmp all sound okay.  I've noticed that the worst performance is when the  Volume Control/WAV balance is at the mid-point and that I can get some semblance of volume when the balance is moved entirely to the left or right.  Please note that this is not necessary for the apps that work fine.  At max volume, at mid-point, iTunes and WinAmp cannot be played due to the extreme volume.   I have the latest versions of everything installed.

I did note that Control Panel has an icon for 'IDT Audio Control panel' which spins an hourglass but does not start.
