Question : Problem: mac networking, airport
I am using mac leopard.
When connected to a wireless network using my airport, sometimes the network stops, and I get a 'self assigned ip"
The wireless network works for other people, and it worked for me to before I got a "self-assigned-ip"
so I go to 'system preferences' -> 'network' -> 'advanced'-> 'tcp/ip'
and click 'renew dhcp lease' and this sometimes corrects my 'self-assigned-ip' (which always begins with a '1')
And sometimes my network stays as a 'self-assigned-ip'
Answer : Problem: mac networking, airport
If you go to System Preferences > Network > Airport > Advanced > TCIP/IP and then choose the Configure IPv4 > Manually
And put in all of the correct info from when you do get a dynamic IP
