The basic steps are: set the new drive as primary slave or on the secondary IDE FDISK and FORMAT new drive copy/clone/image old drive onto new drive setup new drive as primary master and GO.
Don't forget to set jumpers as needed and the BIOS between swap arounds. Also XP seems to have a problem with hardware upgrades. You are suppose to be able to do a few upgrades before you have to call MS to get a new activition number, but it don't always work that way. I don't run XP so I don't have all the details, but you could poke around in the Operation System>WinXP section and see if you find anything more on it. Or another Expert might post with more info.
I have not used Ghost. I use a freeware program called XCLONE to clone my W98 system to another drive before I do something that might be dangerous or stupid. About every 2 or 3 weeks. ; )
