Question : Problem: Floppy disk fail (40)

Just installed a PP6-NB Motherboard.  I'm getting a floppy disk fail (40) error at boot.  I've checked and rechecked the cables, put another drive in, checked the CMOS, etc.  The A drive does it's initial check then that's it, I get the error.    Any Suggestions?

Answer : Problem: Floppy disk fail (40)

Cwm,

Save your CMOS settings, and does the drive moves it's head when POST. How about the green LED, did the LED light-up ? Can your drive works on another PC ? If it doesn't then change your drive... and if it does check for the cable. Interchange with your cable and the working cable to your PC.

Finally claim your spoiled motherboard from your supplier.

Good luck :o)
