Question : Problem: How Many Miles  Can Can DSL Goes?

I was told i am 4 miles away from my DSL D-mark. I thought you could only be 2 mile away? Does any one know how far?

Answer : Problem: How Many Miles  Can Can DSL Goes?

In general, the maximum range for DSL without a repeater is 5.5 km (18,000 feet)....or about 3.5 miles, but there are other factors that come into play:

1. Typically, the further away you are from the provider, the lower the data rate.
2. The provider may be using repeaters to boost the signal.
3. If your phone company has extending the local loop with fiber cable, that will allow for greater distances, as well.

Does your provider offer a month to month contract so that you can check out the signal for yourself?
