Question : Problem: 2003 Server with Intel Pro/1000 MT NIC drops off network intermitently

Windows 2003 Server with onboard Intel Pro/1000 MT NIC
Server drops network connection and reconnects a few seconds later.  XP work stations shows their network card going offline and back online
Event log shows source E1000 Event 27
Started happening a few weeks ago... just once a day, now several times a day
Ran new patch cable to server and replaced the 10/100/1000 switch...  same issue
Updated the Intel NIC driver to 12-13-2006 Ver 8.8.1.0 and ran all day yesterday with only 1 disconnect
Today installed latest Intel Driver  3-25-2007 V 8.9.1.0 and problem started imed after boot up
Disabled Onbaord Intel and installed new PCI-W Intel Pro/1000 MT server card with latest driver
problem started imed after boot up
Went back to onboard Intel card and rolled back driver to 12-13-2006 V 8.8.1.0 and system ran for a few hours and then problem started again.

workstations and the server drop connectivity?  At the same time?

Sounds like a network issue, despite replacing cables and the switch.  Is it a managed switch with log files you can look at?  Do you have a syslog server that catches the logs?
