Question : Problem: Mouse pointer speed adjustment.

I try to adjust the pointer speed of my mouse to slower in the control panel, but when I shut down and reboot the speed defaults to the previous setting.  This happens with both Logitech and Kensington mice.

The laptop came with Windows XP Home edition installed by HP and was purchased 8/05.
