Question : Problem: USB Thumb drive won't run on Vista PC
I have a Dell Precsion 690 Desktop that orgianlly had XP Pro SP2 64 Bit, but was upgraded to Vista Ultimate 64 Bit. Since the upgrade I have not been able to get any USB Thumb drives to run the on the USB Ports on the Tower, however I have had no problem with Thumb drives using the monitor. I ran the dell system test and found no hardware issues wtih the system and the USB Ports on the tower still recongize USB Keyboards and mice.
I have tried formating the thumb drives to get rid of any software that may try to run itself, but with the same results. The device manger does not have any problems as all the drives are recongized.
Any suggestions would be helpdful. Would this have anything to do with the letter the drive is assigned? I'm not at all familiar with this.
Thank you for any help or suggestions
