Question : Problem: I want to access my files on my NAS from anywhere on my laptop.....
|
|
I want to access my files stored on my NAS remotely on my laptop via the internet. I dont want the files to be available to anyone else or even visible on the internet, so I dont want to use ftp. I have a DynDns account and this points to my router. I understand port forwarding on my router. I am running Windows XP home. Is there a way I can access the static IP of my NAS and look at the files as if I was on my LAN, in a secure manner, from the internet. Perhaps using a password to access the router port or NAS? What are the ways this can be achieved and how secure are they? Thanks

Hi, the easiest way will either be :
To set up a secure VPN
To use real VNC with encryption
Hope this helps
