The 'Award' BIOS always displays this message, unless you have added/subtracted hardware since the last cold-boot.
After displaying this message, the BIOS tries to read the "boot" information from your hard-drive. If it cannot read from your hard-drive, it will "halt". If it does read the boot-record, and the information has been "corrupted", possibly by a computer-virus, it will "halt".
So, put a bootable diskette into the A-drive, reset the BIOS to try to boot first from the A-drive, and see if you can boot from the diskette. If so, then enter 'DIR C:' and see if that "hangs", or if it displays a list of files on your hard-drive. If it does, then insert another diskette, i.e., one containing a virus-checker, and check for viruses. (Or, try to run a virus-checker which you previously loaded onto your hard-drive.)
