Question : Problem: apple laptop not reading DVD's.

I have a 15" apple mac book pro. It is refusing to recognize DVD's. It will play Cd's without any problem but not DVD's. Any body have any ideas.

There are two different lasers one for cd and one for dvd. You can lose either one in a failed drive. You probably got a MAC DVD install disk with your MBP. IF that is not readable as well I would lean towards hardware.
