Question : Problem: iTunes not seeing my iPod

I downgraded my laptop from Vista to XP, and had no trouble importing my MP3 files into iTunes. Now, when I plug my iPod to my laptop it found my iPod and allowed it to recognize the device. Unfortunately, it did not allow my to synch the iPod with iTunes - the option was grayed out. What do I need to do?

You should be able to do it.  A reformat should not be required and would be a last option in my opinion to get this working.

Make sure you have your Library set up on the rebuilt PC before syncing.  Otherwise you would basically be asking iTunes to delete the songs that are on the iPod and not in the Library on the computer.  Let me know if you have a  question about this.
