Question : Problem: CPU fan not connected (AMD ATHLON 800MHZ)

My factory cpu fan went out, now I have replaced it with a new one but keep getting the "CPU fan not connected" message and then the PC shuts down. I can't even get to bios to change that setting. Is there any other way to get around it??

Yes, I plugged it exactly where the old fan was plugged in (on the motherboard).

my thinking is you might have a bad fan connector on the mobo  see if you have another fan connector on the mobo   I had a mobo that managed to have a bar b q with my cpu becuase it decided to just go out on me!!!!   so possible bad mobo
