Question : Problem: Sharing a MacBook's wireless internet connection with a non-wireless G5?
|
|
I have a 1.6Ghz PowerMac G5 and it doesn't have a wireless adapter. I'd like to connect it to my wireless network by somehow by connecting it to my MacBook via ethernet and sharing the MacBook's wireless connection -- saving me the hassle and expense of buying a wireless adapter. Any idea if this is possible -- and if so, how to do it?
Thanks!

You should be able to go on your MacBook and go into:
System Preferences, Sharing Click Internet Tab On Share Your Connection from: choose Airport check the box next to Built-in Ethernet Click Start
Now connect your G5 to your MacBook using a crossover cable (or using a network switch) and make sure your G5 is set up to use DHCP. That should be it.
