Question : Problem: All oif sudden, connected but cannot access websites
Sometime in the last few days (not sure when) my laptop started doing something strange. I can connect to wireless networks that i could connect to before and I can connect to my work LAN using an ethernet cable, but I cannot open any websites? This is on at least 3 networks I used to be able to use fine.
when i ping google i get "Ping request could not find the host..."
when i ping 209.85.135.147 I get 4 "Request timed out." lines. I get the same when i try to ping the default gateway.
i haven't changed any settings, only thing new is I switched from Norton to Avira anti-virus protection.
I ran a spyware scan (spyware doctor) and there were no infections. I tried a system restore to last week with no luck. What should I try? Neither IE or firefox is working and my spyware program cannot run its update.
Answer : Problem: All oif sudden, connected but cannot access websites
ccCommon seams to be a norton product. I would try the Norton Removal Tool first.
