Question : Problem: vnc closes automatically
|
|
does anyone know why vnc (both realvnc and ultravnc) closes on me if i minimize it? it does this consistently after just a few minutes of being minimized...if it is not minimized, it will stay connected indefinitely, even if there is no movement on the screen.
thanks for any help with this.

When VNC gets minimised it no longer polls for information. Your system's TCP settings then take over & close the idle TCP connection (I don't know how long though). The simple answer is to keep the VNC session in a restored/maximised state - in this state it will continue to poll for changes through the connection. In this circumstance you would typically get a socket error 10053 (Connection Aborted) error.
If you're not receiving a 10053, could you explain the error you do receive please.
