Question : Problem: Adding a nic to a win2K3 cluster
I have a windows 2003 cluster working properly and of course all data gets sent to the cluster IP which (to make life easy) we'll say is 1.1.1.1 Of course the two Nic's on each node are on the same network and share the clusterIP depending on which node is live. BTW. The cluster is active-passive. The customer now needs to add another interface to the cluster that is on a different network. The server this data is coming from is on a (once again just for ease of understanding) a 10.10.10.10 network. These two networks do not route to one another and are completely separate. How can I setup the cluster to be able to accept data from this network regardless of what the active cluster node is? I was thinking a NIC in node A (10.10.10.11) and a NIC in node B (10.10.10.12) but which IP would it use?

can the 2 networks be routed? it would be so much easier if you route them but have a firewall between them allowing only certain ports in. You could add another nic to each node but then you would need to setup aother virtual ip and cluster interface on these 2 machines.
