Question : Problem: HP Recovery partition doesn't works with dual boot
Hi folks,
I have a problem with my HP Dv6704nr, thats what happens:
1 - The notebook cames with Windows Vista Home Premium, i bought the Ultimate and installed that
2 - I partitioned the disk and installed Linux ( Slackware 12.2 ) with Lilo to do the dual boot, on that partiion
3 - So now, when my computer turns on, the LILO screen comes up for me, to choose what operating system i want to boot.
Thaat's okay!
BUT!
4 - I'm trying to recover my notebook as factory default with the HP Recovery Partition, but it doesn't works.. when i press F11 in the bios screen, nothing happens, and the LILO comes up..
I tried so many times pressing F11 in diferent times, and never get the Recovery manager..
Someone can help me please??
Thankyou so much!!!!
Answer : Problem: HP Recovery partition doesn't works with dual boot
The lilo instlation overwrote the mbr for HP- so now it wont be an option to boot into recovery console- Simplest way to go its to order the actual disks from support.hp.com- around 15$
