Question : Problem: Multiple attempts needed to connect to windows 2000 PPTP VPN
|
|
Hi,
I have a WINDOWS 2000 network. The network has several servers on it. The main server is the primary domain controller, DNS, DHCP, WINS, etc. I have another machine (running Win2KServer even if it is a workstation configuration) that has RAS running to service a VPN.
The VPN is set for 20 ports.
I have intermittent connection problems. Sometimes when we try to connect we get:
Error 800 - Unable to establish connection
It may take a few tries and then we get through OK.
I can't seem to figure out what this is. I can tell you that it is NOT because we ran out of ports because it just happened and there are two people connected.
There is another symptom that I just hit. I am connected to the VPN and my colleague (we are behind a router and are natted) just tried to connect. He was able to connect but now I cannot seem access any resources on the VPN. Although I am connected (according to windows), I may as well as not have a connection at all.
We are both using XP with the latest updates.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
