Question : Problem: 6i+ Raid Controller Error Lights

I am trying to setup a 6i+ raid controller in an IBM X225 Server. It worked first boot, i ran Serveguide and updated the bios/firmware and arranged an array, but now I am getting lights 1 and 5 flashing, which from what I have found on the adaptec website is a bad firmware error.
The problem is it is also only showing light 5 on some post attempts which from what i have read is a hardware error. Any ideas on how i can get this going?

4 scsi drives.
i have reset the bios to default and am still having the same issues
