Question : Problem: VIDEO CAPTURE CARD PROBLEM
|
|
Hi All,
I just bought a Leadtek TV2000 Deluxe Video Capture Card and am having some issues with it.
The problem is that when I capture from VHS to .wmv the picture quality is excellent but the sound is not.
I am capturing Music Videos and the Video Tapes are approx 15-17 years old. Now I know that is old....but when I play the tapes thru the PC the sound is good.
However, After I capture the Videos though, the sound is noticeably worse, but the picture is Excellent. Why?? Any ideas how to improve the sound quality?? I don't have Vast experience with Capture cards........but I had a Riva TNT Capture Card that captured the sound fine from the same Music Videos, but the picture was crappy, so I sold it.
System specs are: AMD Athlon XP2400+, 512MB DDR, 200GB HDD, Onboard Video (32MB Shared), Onboard AC 97 Sound.
The OLD Riva TNT System specs were: Duron 900, 512MB SDRAM, 80GB HDD, Riva TNT Captrue Card, AWE64 Creative Sound.
A fix would be greatly appreciated.

Creative has always had a problem with resampling CD audio from 44.1kHz to 48kHz, which is not ideal. If you use the Audigy2 for games, the EAX support is great, and the S/PDIF passthrough will work for DVDs. The M-Audio product doesn't provide as wide a range of features for games, but it stacks up well as an audio card for those who desire accurate sound.
