Question : Problem: Can't Import

Experts,

I've imported many albums and songs into iTunes, but for some reason I'm not able to now.

The files in question are mp3 files that I've put into a directory under iTunes music using the usual directory structure of \artis\album\.  I just used "import" to get one song into its iTunes, and "Add Folder to Library" to import a whole folder at a time.

After these steps, neither the songs, albums, or artists will appear when I search in the search field.  I've made sure that "All" is checked when I type in my search criteria, but still no results.

I'm guessing that a setting was hosed up somewhere.  Any ideas?

Answer : Problem: Can't Import

NigelRocks --Sounds like you are doing everything correctly.  The steps you take SHOULD add the MP3 files to iTunes.

There are a couple of possible issues.

1. The MP3 files are damaged in some way .. can you play them from the Desktop/Finder??
2. The ID3 tag information inside the MP3 file is missing or incorrectly formatted therefore the music is imported with Unknown Artist, Album, Track .. and therefore not findable when you search for it.  If you set iTunes as the default application for MP3 music . then double click on a track .. by default iTunes should import/add the track to its library and begin to lay it .. this will allow you to check how the file is being imported by iTunes.
3. Some other issue I can't think of ...
