is over clocking memory a good idea? i have 2 sticks of Mushkin EM2-5300 Enhanced DDR2 SDRAM, 2GB Dual. here is some stuff about them.

i kinda just bought this ram not really knowing what i was getting myself into. i was just wondering if over clocking ram would even increase performance. you know, just looking for some PROs and CONs

Answer : Problem: PROs and CONs of over clocking memory.

The pros are that you may be able to increase performance (slightly). The cons are that you may burn up components in doing so. What type of system are you running? You obviously have newer components considering the RAM you are using. If you are running XP, you will probably not even notice any kind of overclock and it may cause system instability and eventually harm your components.
