WinXP Pro all icons on the desktop are duplicated. If one is deleted they both go. If one is added it's duplicated??

I think I have it! You must have your desktop pointed at "All Users"! If I do that with tweakui, then I get the same problem. To fix just go into RegEdit and go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsof\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders
and find a "Desktop" on the right. It should say "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop" right now. Just change it back to your own desktop, which for me was:
"C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop" and that fixed it.
