Question : Problem: Connecting Firewire Audio Interface
Hi all,
I am setting up a home recording studio and will be using a Firewire Audio interface to upgrade from my current soundcard and also to connect some studio monitors etc.
My system is currently very simple:
Dual Processor Intel P4 2.60 GHz Model 2
Windows XP SP2
Motherboard MS-6540G (661FM-L)
Soundcard Creative Audigy 2ZS
There is one firewire connection which comes out of the Creative soundcard
My questions are:
If the Firewire audio interface is plugged into the Firewire socket of the Creative soundcard will the circuitry of the Creative card be bypassed, hence providing me with the higher sound quality of the external Firewire Audio Interface?
If not, then will I have to purchase another PCI card that has a Firewire port to plug into that instead?
If this is the case can anyone recommend any PCI cards that would be suitable for my application (ie fit into my motherboard)?
