Question : Problem: cannot boot from xp pro SP2 OEM cd rom in SATA drive.

Setup: ASUS P5N32E-SLI, nForce680i chipset, 4 gig ram, 200gig seagate HD, 750gig seagate HD, 2 sata DVDRW.
I was having issues with video cards after swapping around some cards, I rebooted only to find that I wasn't able to boot to my system HD because the Windows\System32\Config\System was corrupt or missing. It then said to run the windows setup and press R.
I got out my xp pro SP2 cd rom, put in the drive and rebooted. The system won't boot from the CD rom. I have went into my BIOS, forced the CD to be the only boot device and I get an error that says SYSTEM BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK. So I look at my CD..its in perfect condition. I got another copy from my fiances' laptop and put it in, this gives the same error and the disk is in pristine condition as well.
I tried clearing my CMOS settings attaching only 1 sata drive at a time, but that doesn't work either.
I am thinking my motherboard is bad to have so many different problems all at once.
EDIT: I unplugged the power, reseated all the SATA connections, reset my BIOS to default settings and still getting the same errors.
