Question : Problem: SAMSUNG CD-R/RW SW-224B Not working after installing CD burner softwares in XP

Hi,

I am really finding it difficult to make my SAMSUNG CD-R/RW SW-224B Detect in XP, earlier it used to work fine, after installing some BURNING softwares, like AHEAD NERO, the CD-RW is not detectable.

I am not able to burn/read any CD's

I am getting this message in the Device Manager

"Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."

PLEASE PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!

I searched in the Internet, and most of the guys using this model SAMSUNG CD-R/RW SW-224B  are facing the same problem

If anyone can help me, so that the drive works fine, without re-installing WINDOWS XP, or INSTALLING the FIRMWARE, it would be great.

Looking forward for an expert's HELP.

THank you

If your CD-RW device is very new, then you may require an update from Ahead to allow it to work with it.

I had the same problem with a new Samsung CD-RW and the patch was available on Roxio's site.

Don't start updating Firmware unless it comes to this.  It is rarely necessary.
