Question : Problem: Is there a generic USB driver for Windows NT?

My colleague has a Toshiba Satelite PRO 4290 Laptop with Windows NT and would like to use a USB flash drive with it but the laptop doesn't have any USB drivers.
I've looked on the Toshiba website for this model and operating system but there are no drivers found.
I presume that the drivers are motherboard specific
I know that NT didn't support USB out of the box but are any generic drivers available?

Answer : Problem: Is there a generic USB driver for Windows NT?

You can try these:
http://search.dell.com/results.aspx?k=R62200.exe%20&s=BSD&cat=sup

They are from Dell's site, but based on various internet reports, they do work with MANY chipsets.  You would need to know a specific chipset he's using and try to locate drivers from there if these don't work.  (Why is he using NT4 anyway?  He should upgrade to AT LEAST 2000).
