HI.. I would like to know how to connect (FOR INTERNET) using a PC-PC cross cable
1. A laptop and a desktop. 2. Laptop(Dell) running Vista Home Basic. 3. Desktop running XP Professional SP2. 4. Laptop accesses Internet using Netgear wi-fi router.
I have connected a PC to PC cable between laptop and desktop.
I WANT TO ACCESS INTERNET IN THE DESKTOP.
I have already connected the desktop and file sharing is working fine. Somebody please help me how to enable internet in the desktop.
I have attached the screenshot of the ip configs of laptop AFTER connecting the PC to PC cable . hope that helps. Looking forward to your replies. Thank You.

After you enable ICS, the desktop should get a private IP from the laptop. The laptop turns into a router and dhcp server if you will. Do you have Internet on your desktop now?
