Question : Problem: Router stuck at rommon
|
|
Ok, I tried to load a new IOS and I didnt have enough room. Now when my router boots, it gives a crapload of errors and is at the ROMMON prompt. This is a 2600 series router. I tried the copy xmodem: stuff but it didnt work.
How do I erase the flash? Then install a new IOS (I'm assuming I have to use xmodem since it cant even boot into the IOS)? Thank you

You can configure an ethernet ip address and use tftp from the rommon prompt.
Here's the step-by-step: How to Download a Software Image to a Cisco 2600 via TFTP Using the tftpdnld ROMMON Command http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps259/products_tech_note09186a008015bf9e.shtml
Hope this helps :)
