Question : Problem: Slow file upload acrosss wireless, is this normal?

Ok I understand wireless pretty good but I need some help from someone that understand it better. I have a site that is provided by the state of GA and our teachers upload files to it. When I have a teacher that uploads a 16MB file it takes about 10 min start to finish. When I run speed test I get a consistent 24Mbps. I wanted to know what some other people thought about that. Does that sound normal or do i have a problem. We have a Cisco AP 1130 working off of a G signal. I know 802.11G is rated for 54mbps but you dont always see 100% of the speed speced out. I need help determining if this is just the nature of wireless or if there are some tweaks that need to be made.

So, to understand correctly:

If you sit in front of the 1130 WAP but behind the 5700 router wired, it all looks good.

The 1130 WAP input and output reflect no errors.

The 5700 router connected to the 1130 WAP reflects no errors.

You aren't fragmenting packets when bypassing the WAP.

Are you using tunnels on the 5700 or dot1q for the packets traversing the wireless?

For a tunnel, I'd drop the interface MTU down to 1436.  For dot1q, I'd up the global MTU to 1503.
