Question : Problem: data protection manager not showing correct free space

Hi,
Just installed data protection manager 2007 on my 2003 server.

When I added a disk, it only shows that it has 7mb of space on it. Even though its a 1tb drive with 890gb free.

Do i need to do something to the disk or change something in dpm?

Answer : Problem: data protection manager not showing correct free space

DPM uses unpartitioned/unformatted disks. Those are the disks it will list when you go into the Management / Disks tabs.
If you want to use space on a disk that you've already formatted and given a drive letter, then you add this disk as a "Custom Volume" in the "Modify Disk Allocation" dialog when you create the protection group.

However, you're better off just using an unpartitioned volume.
