Question : Problem: How to control fan speed in Fedora?
I've just gotten a new server (Chenbro RM21508ML chassis w/ Intel S3210SHLC motherboard) and put Fedora 9 on it. Things are going well so far, except that the case fans run full-tilt 24/7. It's going for co-location so I'm not too worried about the noise, but I'm concerned that it will shorten the lifespan of the fans. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to persuade them to calm down. Does anyone have any thoughts?
